Odds and Ends: The Arms of the Ocean
The cool rush of water over her sensitive skin woke her, eyes of darkest chocolate opening to gaze at the flickering surface above.
She sat on the gritty ocean floor, pale hands sifting through sand as she examined her surroundings.
It was dark and different, this new life she'd been born into. There was no fear, only curiosity. She did not feel alone in this darkness, there was a soothing presence that wrapped around her, embraced her, and completed her in ways no words could ever hope to describe.
Crimson ribbons floated about her shoulders, her red hair flowing with the currents of the water as she moved to stand.
